About

I am, by nature, VERY curious.  One could accurately say “nosy”, and it doesn’t offend me.  I want to know ALL the details.

A million years ago, circa 1989, when I decided to “go back to school” at the ripe old age of 26, I found myself in a library with a wealth of family history resources at my fingertips.  There, opportunity intersected with my curiosity. Of course I wanted to know about my SCOTT surname.  Like a toddler just beginning to toddle(?), I read indexes, scrolled through miles of microfilm (you youngsters will have to Google it) and recorded, with a pen in a spiral-bound notebook, everything I could find about any SCOTT family. As I learned HOW to do the research, I branched out to include all my ancestral lines plus other family and friends’ lines.  I love the research regardless of the family, whose ancestors are out there begging to be found.

I barely remember 26. Today, I am 62 years old. It’s time to document decades of discoveries, the information that doesn’t fit in a tiny box on a family tree-stories that make ancestors come alive in fun, intriguing, sometimes shocking, sometimes sad but always interesting ways!
